A Realistic Timeline
What actually happens, week by week, and why keeping a record matters.
If you have ever stared in the mirror around month three wondering whether your Botox is wearing off or it is all in your head, this is for you. Here is what actually happens, week by week, and why tracking it matters more than you think.
For most people, Botox lasts 3 to 4 months (Botox Cosmetic prescribing information). That is the honest average. Some people get 2 months. Some get 6. Where you fall depends on your metabolism, the dose, the area treated, and how many times you have had it done.
Nothing visible yet. You might have tiny bumps at the injection sites. This is normal. (The prescribing information notes that denervation typically begins one to two days after injection, increasing in intensity during the first week.)
It starts kicking in. Movement gets softer. Most people see the first real difference around day 5.
Full effect. This is peak Botox, the smooth forehead and the reason you booked in the first place.
Still going strong, though very gradually softening. Most people would not notice a change yet.
Movement comes back. This is the window where most people rebook. If you wait until it is fully gone, you are starting from zero each time, which usually means needing more units.
For most people, fully worn off. A small minority of first-timers metabolize it faster and are done by month 2.
Week by week
The life of one Botox treatment
Nobody remembers the details. What did you get, how many units, where, when, who injected it? Six months later, when you are sitting in a new provider's chair or trying to figure out why this round wore off faster, you are guessing.
That guessing costs money.
Without a record, providers default to conservative dosing or redo your consultation from scratch. With a record, they can see exactly what worked and adjust precisely.

Write down every treatment: date, product, units, area, provider, cost. Then set a reminder for 3 months out so you rebook before it fully wears off instead of starting over.
This is exactly why we built Rinnova. It maps your full aesthetic treatment history, shows you what is in your face and when it is wearing off, and reminds you before results fade. Free on the App Store.
